Since few days it’s possible to admire another Allcon S.A. construction in Sopot. This time it is Haffner Trade Center at Bohaterów Monte Cassino Street. Although finishing works are still in progress the scaffoldings, curtains and fence were already removed.
"...Sopot was founded thanks to crazy ideas. This project belongs to one of them..." – in these words President of Sopot, Jacek Karnowski praised the fabulous elevation of newly constructed building.

The object is sited in a special place, it is at famous Sopot "Monciak". (Bohaterów Monte Casino Street) This popular promenade is a meeting place of Tri-city’s bohemians, people looking for good time and joyful variety. There are many romantic cafes, bars, restaurants, shops and entertainment places.

The building named by pedestrians “Crooked House" with its character refers to fabulous drawings of Jan Marcin Szancer and Per Dahlberg, also projects of Antonio Gaudi. Exterior elevation suits the promenade’s style. The building with its floors refers to cornices and floors of neighbouring buildings. Colorful stained glass entrances, stone elevation decors and windows framed with sandstone make impression. There is also unusual roof covered with sheet metal with enamel roof tiles coloured with green shades, see blue and Parishian blue, which in the whole makes illusion of dragon scales.

The awarding ceremony of “The construction of the year" competition took place in Warsaw, June the 13th 2003. The companies ALLCON Osiedla Sp. z o.o., as Investor and ALLCON S.A., as General Contractor has been rewarded with first degree Prize and the Title “Construction of the year 2002" in category “Residential Constructions Industry" for service – residential complex WITAWA in Gdynia.

This prestigious, Polish-wide competition is organised yearly by Polish Society of Engineers and Construction Technicians. Its aim is to emerge constructions that are distinguished by its execution. Thanks to its prestige, the competition has earned a name of “ Oscar Prize of Construction Industry".

On Tuesday June the 17th 2003 the construction of residential – service complex “Witawa" in Gdynia Witomino has been officially completed.
Construction works of this investment lasted 21 months and consisted several stages. In theirs effect the versatile residential object has emerged. It is connected with trade & service “Centrum Rodzinne Witawa" Centre. In residential part there are 460 flats of diverse metric areas – from one room flats to four room apartments with a view of Tri-City Landscape Park, Gdynia, Sopot and Gdansk. On the roof of trade & service part the inhabitants have at their disposal a garden. There are flower beds, banks, wood arbour, playing ground for children and the mini-golf field.

The construction has been appreciated not only by the first owners of its apartments, but also by experts in construction industry. On June the 13th 2003 the awarding ceremony of “The construction of the year" competition took place in Warsaw. The exceptionality of the object was also appreciated by Gdynia City authorities that have awarded investors and contractors with Eugeniusz Kwiatkowski medal.

A building perch ceremony took place in May14th on the building site of Rezydent business-office centre in Sopot at Monte Cassino St. The architecture of the building’s facade which refers to Peter Dahlberg’s drawings or Gaudi’s houses draws much attention.
Many guests arrived to the building perch ceremony, including city authorities with Jacek Karnowski, the president of Sopot , architects, contractors, occupiers, and journalists. Performance of string quartet added splendour to the ceremony. Opening of the centre is planned for August this year.
