"Sopot was founded thanks to crazy ideas. This building’s elevation project belongs to one of them. I’m glad is being in progress – said President of Sopot, Jacek Karnowski during building perch ceremony of Crooked House (Krzywy Dom) at Boheterów Monte Cassino Street. The contractor, Allcon company from Gdynia wish to end working on elevation already before July. Completing the whole building is planned for beginning of August. The investment is lead by Rezydent company from Warsaw. On the ground and first floor restaurants and pubs will be opened. For ninth time National Chamber of Constructing Industry has rewarded developers and housing associations with Developers Certificates, Certificates of Creditability and Reliability in Business. Developers are using internet in a larger and larger scope. Today, everyone who wants to be competitive on a primary building market, has to develop his own web site. Some of companies let their clients even to systematically view the proceeding works on a building they bought their apartment in (this strategy is also used by Allcon Osiedla company from Gdynia with regard to their new housing estate WITAWA). Those, however, who are looking for "second hand " apartments have to follow a strenuous paths among housing agencies which hardly ever are in possession of any photographic documentation, and if this only regards detached houses. The Association of Polish Architects has awarded best buildings constructed in the year 2001. The library of Jagiellonian University in Krakow was the winner in both categories. The awards were handed by the Polish prime minister Leszek Miller.
The Award of the Year is a prestigious architectural contest organized since 1983 by the Association of Polish Architects.(…) There were altogether 22 nominees from Poland and abroad.

What a perfect boss should be like? The National Association of Building Employees which annually organises the 'Employer of the Year 2001' contest, was looking for such a person for the fifth time. The aim of the contest is to promote those employees whose steps are worth to be followed in by others, because of their management achievements, reliability and credibility. The features mostly prised are local activity, actions taken in favour of accession with the EU, the quality of building works, establishing new work places. Candidates can be recruited from production and services building companies as well as those from companies producing building materials. The main award and distinctions in the Employee of the Year contest are given in two categories:

- big companies, employing more than 250 persons
- small and medium companies employing up to 250 persons

(…) In the category of small and medium companies the second award was handed to Mariusz Białek (37), the president of Allcon SA from Gdynia.He graduated from the Technical University of Gdansk, Machines Construction Department. He is one of the people who founded Allcon Group. At the beginning he was production director, than vice president of the Management Board.
