| | | 135 new accommodation places for the most requiring tourists will arise in Gdansk next year. Autumn 2007 is the most likely date of opening the new hotel – Resident – by the Long Market in Gdansk. Today a foundation stone was set up to investment. As investors are assuring the hotel will be held in the spirit of old Gdansk architecture and apartments will be in the highest standard – says a representative of the investor – Jacek Szymoński.  | Radisson Hotel with the foundation stone |
| | | A foundation stone was set up to the building of the Radisson hotel rising on the Main City in Gdansk. The standard of this hotel will be fitted to the prestige of the place in which is coming into existence – an investor is assuring. Four-star hotel will entertain the first guests in autumn 2007. On the area between the Long Market, Powroźnicza, Ogarna and Mieszczańska Streets, where formerly the Jantar Hotel stood on, for a few years there is a hole in the ground with rising from the side of Long Market and supported with special scaffoldings wall - former facade of the hotel. After a few years of protracting demolishing, archaeological and stabilizing soil jobs, the allotment in the centre of the Main City finally turn into the true construction site where since the February this year conducting works is carrying a building company Allcon – For 16-18 months the hotel will entertain the first guests – assures Mariusz Białek the President of the Board of Allcon. What we will see when workers already finish work? The front door to the hotel will be found of course by the Long Market. It will lead guests into the space stylized on the Gdansk hall. On the last floor is so-called presidential apartment with windows facing to the Long Market, The Hall of the Main City and the Green Gate. In depths of the building a glass atrium in which the main reception desk will be put and entering for motorized passengers will be found. In this part an outstanding majority of around 135 rooms which will come into existence in Radisson will also be found. History of the hotel construction by the Long Market is reaching at least year 2000 when a Rezydent company bought the formerly, deteriorating Jantar hotel with the thought about the thorough modernization and raising the standard. However it turned out that the technical condition of the building was so bad that the modernization isn't possible and it is necessary to build the hotel completely from bases. It is possible to go for the bet that then the decision about demolishing the building was for investors from the Rezydent company like a nightmare. The amount of archaeological discoveries and necessities of detailed arrangements with living next door the Regional Pomeranian Monumental Conservator caused that construction works incessantly had protracted. | | | Three tenement-houses at the Długi Targ next year will turn into the four-star hotel. Before there was Jantar – now Radison SAS. After the old hotel will stay only a facade. Almost 6 years ago Resident company the owner of the Sopot’s hotel bought the real property at the Długi Targ. At once it was known that from the old hotel only a front wall would stay. Plans included demolishing of the old building and construction of the new representative hotel. Where Radison will arise in ancient centuries were courtyards with latrines and sewage pits. Apart from that inhabitants of ancient Gdańsk threw away the plenty of rubbishes in this place. - Archaeologists found a few hundreds artefacts. We would like to put some of them in insides of the hotel. Apart from that we were obligated by the regional conservator for exposing fragments of the old wall. Some walls of underground car park will be made from several few hundred years foundations of ancient houses. A new hotel will be next acting in Poland under the Radison flag. Gdańsk’s four-star hotel will dispose mainly with double rooms. For more requiring guests places in the higher standard were prepared among others presidential luxury suite with windows facing to Długi Targ. Investment begun in 2000 slowly leaves the ground level. Closing the raw condition is a late autumn. A general contractor of all works is Allcon company from Gdynia. | | | Eight buildings were being nominated for the title of Gdynia’s Investment of 2005. Three achieved the special credit of chapters. Prestigious award “Gdynia’s time" occurred to the office-rehabilitation complex of the Vectra company in Orłowo. Impressive, steel-glass Vectra building in the October 2005 arose at Zwycięstwa Ave. on Orłowska Hill. The name of the hill was exposed on a big stone decorating the courtyard between the office building of the company and the therapeutic hotel. Because awarded complex consists of these two objects. - The rock extracted from land during construction works became unexpectedly element of architecture – said Tomasz Żurański President of the Board of Vectra – we decided to put it in place where it sat down tens of years. This place is obliging. Investment in the prestigious district with interesting history and character requires adapting the function of the object for surroundings. An idea for using the place and at the same time opening complex for inhabitants and tourists was construction of Kuracyjny Hotel. Vectra is employing disabled workers among others, that’s why corridors, rooms and toilets are adapted for their needs. However sound-absorbent protections between posts which facilitates a work are suiting for all. The office building compounded of two twin connected together parts, is in the shape of the horseshoe. Perhaps this shape brought to the investor, architects and builders happiness. The plan of complex arose in the Studio Architektoniczne Kwadrat and interiors were designed in the studio Kolor Plus. | | | A Vectra office building is the best past year investment in Gdynia – pronounced the City Council. With their award “Gdynia’s time" are being favored objects combining architectural and social advantages. When we will be in Orłowo at Niepodległość Ave there is no chances not to notice the exceptionally interesting block of the office building. It is situated on the hill and beautifully lighted. Steel and glass. In spite of the contemporary line it is composing with residential development of Orlowo very well. The Studio Architektoniczne Kwadrat designed the investment which consists of three buildings. Two are offices of the Vectra cable television. Third it is a three-star Kuracyjny Hotel connected with large rehabilitation centre. 27 rooms are waiting for hotel guests. The building of the headquarter cost Vectra 40 million polish zlotys.
