Action. The collection of the gifts for Pakistan. Help if you can.


The firemen from Pruszcz Gdanski delivered 75 blankets, the lady from Gdansk gave 5 thousands of children’s hats. Every day Tricity citizens are bringing most needed things to Allcon company’s depot at Lużycka Street where all the gifts for the sufferers of earth-quaking in Pakistan are collected.
Nearly half a million of tents, about 2 millions of blankets and night-bags have to be delivered to Pakistan. The warm jackets also would be very useful.
- Untill the end of the November in three points in whole country the Foundation is collecting the gifts for local people in Pakistan – says Wojciech Borucki from Marek Kaminski Foundation. Besides Gdynia there are also Warsaw and Lódź.
All given things will be transported to Pakistan as soon as possible thanks to the cooperation with Polish Humanitarian Action which is organising such convoys.
October earthquakes claimed about 70 thousands of victims. Several dozen thousands of people are wounded and 3 million become homeless.

Lotos on the piles


At the end of the next year management board and administration of Lotos Group will transfer oneself to the modern office-building. Yesterday a cornerstone was set in up to foundations of the building.
The building worth the 30 m. zloty will stand on the land for the refinery at the Elbląska 135 Street - in the vicinity of old office buildings of the company. 200 workers of the administration department of the concern can count on the high standard of the object - there will be a garage, an air-conditioning, and the computers are supposed to manage all installations.
- The development of Lotos Group is connected with the necessity expansions of managing structures. We want to concentrate all our companies in one place. It will permit us to give up renting rooms for them and to save money – explains President Olechnowicz.
A space on the last eighth storey was set aside as an office for the boss of Lotos (it is a height of 40 metres). There will also rise an extensive terrace with the view on installations of the refinery, Żuławy and Gdańsk. The investment will carry out together Allcon S.A. from Gdynia and Elektrobudowa S.A. from Katowice. To assure the stability of the building structure, the foundations will be based on 230 piles stuck in into soppy land. / Dziennik Bałtycki, 05.11.2005


Lotos Office building


Already next year while driving in Gdansk by the highway number seven it will be possible to admire the new office building for Lotos Group S.A. Yesterday took place the ceremonial of setting in the cornerstone.
The founding deed was put the in foundations of the building by President of the Board of Lotos Group S.A. - Paweł Olechniwicz, President of City of Gdansk - Paweł Adamowicz and Marshal of Pomeranian province - Jan Kozlowski.
- It is essential moment in the development of the company– said Paweł Olechnowicz – The investment is emphasizing the dynamism of the development and is resulting from its needs. The building being a centre of managing will be integrating itself into the landscape of Gdańsk.
The investment of value of the 30 million PLN, carried out by Allcon S.A. and Elektrobudowa S.A., is supposed to be finished in August next year. "Intelligent" and energy-efficient, high almost for 40 meters building was designed byArch-Deco company.
It will be 8-storeys office-building class "A" with underground garage. On ground storeys will be localised office rooms, conference rooms and head offices.

A new Vectra headquarter. There is a job for two hundred people


An impressive office, hotel and rehabilitation complex at Zwyciestwa Ave. in Gdynia since yesterday is a new headquarter of telecommunication company Vectra. Two hundred people have found a new job there. Next sixty will be employed next year. On a surface area of 5 000 m2 the employees have for their disposal for example: dining-room, conference room, free use of orthopedics, cardiology, neurology and after surgery therapy. From the windows they can admire a beautiful panorama of Orłowo cliff.
- It was very important for us to have a very representative appearance of the buildings because Vectra company has been closely related to Gdynia since 1991 when the company was established. – said Tomasz Żurański the President of the Board of Vectra.

Visiting Alfa Center


For a year the building of Alfa Shopping Center intrigued the citizens of Olsztyn. Yesterday 20.000 of people checked how it looks like.
Alfa, 11.00 in the morning – five hours before opening. It’s nervous atmosphere in the air. The salesmen fights with “building" dust. From deafening drill noise hear the music. On the ground-floor the fountain is already working and the tables with champagne glasses are waiting for the guests. The shop assistants are dressing mannequins in the shop-windows. 17.00 the crowd started to gather an hour before the great opening. From minute to minute it became dense and at 16:45 it was impossible to walk thought the side-walk at Pilsudskiego Ave. Security men had to create the wall by themselves to stop the gathered people pressure. Exactly at 17.00 the door was opened and first customers ran in. In spite of a crowd there was more visitors than buyers. Till 19.00 the system of counting the customers recorded over 20.000 people. / Gazeta Wyborcza, 20.10.2005
